What Elisha’s Seasons Teaches Children About Growth
Children often feel pressure to understand everything immediately: who they are, where they belong, and what they are becoming. But growth does not always happen in straight lines.
In Elisha’s Seasons, Elishaithemba begins as a caterpillar full of excitement and hope. Along the way, she experiences loss, loneliness, rejection, and uncertainty before discovering transformation and purpose.
The story teaches children an important lesson:
You do not have to become everything overnight.
Sometimes growth feels confusing. Sometimes we outgrow old seasons before understanding the next one.
Like Elisha, many children are:
- no longer where they started,
- not yet where they want to be,
- and still becoming.
At Isihlangu Foundation, we believe children need safe spaces and healthy conversations that help them navigate these seasons with hope and confidence.
