The Self-Discovery Programme (SDP) is a structured, story-based intervention designed to support identity formation, emotional intelligence, resilience, and purpose development in learners aged 5–18 years. Through guided activities, meaningful conversations, and the children's book Elisha's Seasons, learners develop a stronger understanding of who they are and who they can become.
Partner With UsA child's sense of identity influences how they see themselves, navigate challenges, build relationships, make decisions, and engage with learning.
When identity is nurtured intentionally, children are better equipped to grow in confidence, resilience, self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and purpose. Unfortunately, many children unknowingly define themselves by their circumstances, pain, limitations, or environment. The Self-Discovery Programme exists to help rewrite that narrative.
Learn About The Programme

The Self-Discovery Programme combines storytelling, guided reflection, and practical activities to help learners develop a healthy sense of identity, resilience, and purpose.
Helping learners understand who they are beyond their circumstances, challenges, or environment.
Teaching children to recognise, understand, and express emotions in healthy and constructive ways.
Equipping young people with practical tools to navigate setbacks, change, disappointment, and difficult seasons.
Encouraging learners to discover their strengths, gifts, potential, and unique contribution to the world around them.
The Self-Discovery Programme is designed to reach the most vulnerable children across South Africa through schools, children's homes, hospitals, disability centres, faith-based organisations, and community development initiatives. By meeting children where they are, we help them build identities rooted in purpose, possibility, resilience, and self-worth.
